Wafacash is partnering once again with WorldRemit to offer its customers instant money transfers across West and Central Africa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wafacash<\/strong><\/a> is a Morocco-based company part of Attijariwafa bank’s group, one of Africa\u2019s major banking institutions. It has developed a range of payment solutions such as national and international transfers, a banking account Hissab Bikhir, a credit card Floussy, Salafcash and PayCash.<\/p>\n

Key Figures<\/h3>\n

Remittances<\/strong> in the region have experienced a decade of strong growth<\/strong>, estimated at $34 billion<\/strong> across Sub-Saharan Africa in 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the World Bank, the value of remittances to Cameroon<\/strong>, Cote D\u2019Ivoire<\/strong> and Senegal<\/strong> grew by an estimated 86%<\/strong>, 130%<\/strong> and 74%<\/strong> respectively, between 2006 and 2015.<\/p>\n

\n

Morocco alone received over $7 billion in 2015<\/strong> according to the World Bank, the equivalent of 7% of its GDP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n

Over 8 million Moroccan<\/strong> expatriates are currently living abroad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Scaling across Africa<\/h3>\n

Wafacash and WorldRemit first started working together in Morocco<\/strong> and Senegal<\/strong>. Both companies are now looking to expand to Cameroon,\u00a0Burkina Faso, Benin, Niger and Cote D\u2019Ivoire by the end of the year.<\/p>\n

WorldRemit is a leading digital-first FinTech<\/strong> that has created a unique solution to let\u00a0working migrants send money<\/strong> directly from their mobile. WorldRemit customers will benefit from this announcement and will be able to transfer money to be collected\u00a0in Wafacash’s 1620 cash pick up<\/strong> locations.<\/p>\n
