The event also highlighted successful use cases of bank and fintech collaboration.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>FinTech partnership with banks is becoming a reality<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Many banks in the audience confirmed their effort to bring closer their innovation department with their venture arm.<\/p>\n<p>Benoit Legrand, Chief of Innovation &amp; CEO ING Ventures at ING Bank, shared a pragmatic and open approach to fintech partnership, from nurturing fintech to taking equity stakes in fast growing start-ups.<\/p>\n<h3><strong> New initiatives undertaken by banks<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Since the financial crisis, most Western banks have been preoccupied by old-fashion ways of reducing their costs.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, several new business models have emerged. As an example: 14 European banks created <strong>We.Trade, <\/strong>a shared trade platform built on DLT enabling companies to trade seamlessly, simply and trustfully.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6845 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/insights.invyo.io\/europe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/bank-fintech.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"945\" height=\"851\" srcset=\"https:\/\/insights.invyo.io\/europe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/bank-fintech.png 945w, https:\/\/insights.invyo.io\/europe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/bank-fintech-300x270.png 300w, https:\/\/insights.invyo.io\/europe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/bank-fintech-768x692.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 945px) 100vw, 945px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong> Bridging the gap between banks and social applications<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As millennials spend hours on social applications, banks face a new challenge: How can they engage with this important segment and become an inseparable part of users\u2019 social and digital lives?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Standard Chartered<\/strong> and <strong>PayKey<\/strong> shared their journey to implement an innovative <em>Social Banking Solution<\/em> that transforms users\u2019 mobile keyboard into an effective channel for corporates in finance.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, we noticed that banks find it much easier to innovate in their non-core functions.
