When a former Wall Street CEO, often described as ‘one of the most creative person in business’, decides to enter\u00a0the FinTech market and wants to bring women to finance, it gives Ellevest.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ellevest<\/strong><\/a> is a woman-oriented robo-advisor<\/strong> founded by Sallie Krawcheck who\u00a0left a brillant career in finance to try to\u00a0get the most out of the new technologies to empower women financially<\/strong> and reduce the gender investing gap<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is a fact that\u00a0women simply don’t have the same expectations than men<\/strong> in terms of building wealth. According to the CEO, women are more ‘risk-aware’ than men.\u00a0<\/strong>Such a platform also makes sense when you\u00a0see more and more women\u00a0accessing financial independance<\/strong>. The platform clearly\u00a0wants to distinguish itslef from most of the actors on the market\u00a0that are all targeting the mass market.<\/p>\n

She\u00a0worked for years in the most stereotyped environement in Citigroup or in Bank of America\u00a0surrounded by wealthy and powerful men. Ellevest is still in beta mode and available by invitation only. As most of other robo-advisors on the market, it gives clients\u00a0access to ETFs<\/strong> and will charge them with a small 0.5% per year<\/strong> for managing their\u00a0portfolio. Ellevest recently raised 10 million dollars led by morningstar.<\/p>\n
